It’s weekly blood test day again. The results come through quite quickly and I see that all my white blood cell counts have significantly dropped since pre-chemo. I’ve also noticed my energy levels have decreased. I am getting tired more quickly as well. But hey, I still have my hair.
The thing that really concerns me is my tumour size. It’s supposed to shrink with chemo and I know I’ve only had two treatments, but if anything, Betty continues to grow. This is freaking me out a little bit. I have an Oncology appointment with Dr Sk tomorrow and will ask about it then.
My friend Jn visits from South Auckland. We live at completely opposite ends of the city so rarely see one another. I am blessed that she has come all the way over to see me. We chat about my cancer and then move on to other topics. The conversation flows naturally and as always it feels like we are catching up after a week or so, not a year or so. I am grateful for our friendship – we’ve known each other since we worked in hospitality in our early 20s. That’s a looooong time ago now.
