Chemo Round 2, Ding Ding! Today K comes as my support person and H drops us off and picks us up afterwards. We just chat our way through the 4 hours. My big sister has a great sense of humour and we find ourselves cracking up a few times. I think we easily have the most fun of all the patients there.
During chemo Dr Sk calls to update me on the biopsy results – she doesn’t know that Dr PG already called. She sounds absolutely delighted for me – I can clearly hear the smile in her voice. We chat about how unusual it is to have sarcoidosis and a cancer diagnosis at the same time. She tells me that she was actually surprised by the biopsy result as it was quite unexpected. I am very happy to be an unusual case in this instance.
I confirm with Dr Sk that my treatment plan has switched back to Plan A – this chemo followed by more intense chemo, hopefully leading to surgery. Yes, she says, treatment with curative intent, not palliative. I’m over the moon and the happiest Stage 3 cancer patient in the room.
