We spend most of the day at home. K comes over and we sit outside by the fire for awhile. I chat, laugh and don’t talk about Oncology. 

In the evening we go over to L and Ph’s for dinner. My cousin S and his partner Ch are there as well. It’s good value company and we laugh a lot. Dinner is poached snapper – it’s delicious but I struggle through my portion and give up halfway. We play a card game which is hilarious. I win. Conversation flows as does the wine. I don’t drink at all which is a huge change for me. I get anxious in social situations so often use alcohol to ease my stress levels. This time however, so much has changed that I don’t feel awkward at all – silver lining? We even crack a couple of cancer jokes. It’s all in all a very fun evening but I’m exhausted by the end.
