We go to Oncology and meet with Dr Sk. She reiterates what Dr Kt said. When she examines me she also thinks that there has been some change in Betty, and more particularly in the size of the lymph nodes. She calls Dr Kt and after some discussion they agree that despite the changes surgery should definitely happen asap. Dr Sk reminds me that my tumour is not responding normally. Normal. Average. Typical. Predictable. Usual. None of these words have ever been used to describe me so I’m not surprised. I do however wish that in this case my cancer were as normal as normal can be. I agree to go ahead with surgery.

We leave and I feel ok about my decision. I think I’ve made the right choice, but who knows? We decide to escape to Raglan in the van for a couple of nights to get away from it all.
